Our comment from Best Dentists Club about Smile Studio Orewa | Lumino The Dentists:

A Trusted Local Dental Practice with a Patient-First Approach

Located in the heart of Orewa, Lumino Smile Studio has established itself as a cornerstone of the local community since its founding by Dr. Adam Doudney in 1996. The practice is guided by the motto "Always act in the best interest of the patient," a principle that resonates through every interaction. Patients frequently highlight the warm, welcoming atmosphere that begins at reception, where staff members like Jackie and Tracey are praised for their kindness and efficiency. This commitment to creating a relaxed environment helps many patients, particularly those with dental anxiety or long-standing fears, to feel at ease from the moment they arrive.

Expertise Across a Wide Range of Treatments

The clinical team boasts a diverse skill set, ensuring comprehensive care for all family members. The practice is home to several highly qualified dentists with specific areas of expertise:

Endodontics: Dr. Pieter van der Merwe is noted for his precise and thorough root canal treatments, offering a pain-free experience for those who need specialized care.
Restorative & Cosmetic Dentistry: Dr. Ginal Bilimoria excels in improving smiles through advanced restorations and Invisalign straightening, while Dr. Michelle Chew focuses on restoring confidence through meticulous work.
Implantology: Dr. Pawan Kalra visits weekly to provide surgical implant services, adding to the clinic's ability to handle complex cases.
General Dentistry: Dr. Adam Doudney continues to lead the practice, celebrated for his gentle, consultative approach and thorough examinations.

Compassionate Care and Anxiety Management

A recurring theme in patient reviews is the exceptional ability of the staff to manage fear and anxiety. Whether dealing with a first-time visit, a child’s check-up, or complex procedures, the team prioritizes comfort. Patients have shared stories of crying in the chair only to be soothed by the patience of dentists like Jaco and Helen, or having their concerns fully addressed by Dr. Pieter, who takes the time to explain every detail in easy-to-understand terms. This empathetic approach transforms what many fear into a pleasant, almost relieving experience.

Flexible Financing and Community Commitment

Smile Studio Orewa is dedicated to making dental care accessible, offering various financial assistance options. The practice is registered with ACC for accident-related dental injuries, accepts Work and Income (WINZ) patients, and provides discounts for Southern Cross members, corporate employees, and SuperGold card holders. For those needing to manage costs, options like Afterpay and an 18-month interest-free payment plan with Q Card allow patients to proceed with necessary treatments without immediate financial strain.

Proven Track Record of Satisfaction

With over a decade of service, the clinic has earned the loyalty of numerous long-term patients who appreciate the consistency of care. Reviews frequently mention the thoroughness of hygienists like Jen and Tracey, whose gentle cleanings leave patients with sparkling smiles. From emergency appointments for broken teeth to routine check-ups, the team’s professionalism, punctuality, and genuine care have made them the dentists of choice for many in the Orewa area and beyond.
